get a bunch of eaten cantalope halves, and place them in various areas around and in your garden eaten side down. the pests go for the cantelope halves, and forget the corn. simply go out and pick them up (with a glove) and put them in a trash can

In the book Carrots Love Tomatoes, she suggests growing the corn with pumpkins, that is if the pest is a raccoon. Guess they dont like the big prickly leaves. Might be worth a try next year...
