How to grow grass where pine tree was

I recently had a large pine removed from my back yard. Now I would like to plant grass where it once was.  Anything special I should do to amend the soil since there was once a lot of pine needles there?  Thought I might need to apply lime first but not sure. Any suggestions?

Get a soil test so you know how much lime to use. Your cooperative extension will have one or a local nursery.
Once you get the pH right, you'll need to add some organic matter too.
