Snow drops question

Does anyone know if the snow drops will wait till the snow is melted to pop up or are they finished? They usually pop in February, but obviously the piles of snow have hampered their appearance.

I hope they still arrive, as I love these little gems.

Re: Snow drops question

Don't worry, they'll pop up when the time is right. I call this kind of year a compressed season. Instead of watching many of our spring bulb varieties bloom from Feb to May, we'll enjoy many in bloom together.
I had some come up in January, I'm interested to see how they fare when (if) the snow melts.

Re: Snow drops question

Hi!  I haven't been around because my computer was stolen and I'm using the library's.

Some snow melted around our fence a couple days ago, and the snowdrops were already blooming as soon as they became visible!  This is actually the first time I've seen snowdrops actually blooming in the snow!

Re: Snow drops question

My crocus meadow in the lawn is starting to appear!  No open flowers yet, but it won't be long now!

Re: Snow drops question

Thanks all for the response. Yes, I see they are actually blooming under the snow...I've never seen this either, quite awesome!
